fern friday.

my friends, it's friday. hallelujah.

fridays mean that i am one week closer to being done with this semester.

this week i did these things:

1) spent some time in the ICU

2) saved a robot's life

3) went grocery shopping

4) wrote a paper

5) procrastinated by looking at this, this, and this

i hope your weekend is filled with things that make you smile!

i'm really having puppy cravings today. and these pictures of dogs in their homes make me smile. 

in other news, i made dinner tonight. ryan and i were both surprised. eek. i go through phases of not cooking. i'm really hoping those phases get shorter and further apart. 

i have the best of intentions.

fern friday.

woohoo. friday is here. i think i got a few gray hairs this week. i spent all day yesterday at clinicals in the emergency room. it was intense. as ryan's brother said, it was like "tv show intense"

here are a few things from the world wide web i liked this week. i thought you might like them as well:

• my friend jayson sent me this link the other day. let me just tell you - mr. giraffe is breathing very well next to the fern. 

• i saw this house tour on apartment therapy. it made me so happy. it was so bright and creative. look at how cute:

 

  

  

  

i am obsessed with that gray wall in the dining room. it is such a neat idea!

• also, i thought you should know we were about .25 seconds away from getting a dog today. i received an e-mail in my inbox today that said this: "11 FREE Golden Retriever/Lab puppies - FOUND ON SIDE OF THE ROAD" and these pictures were attached:

 

  

then i received an email saying they were all adopted. someone made a decision in .24 seconds. we were too late.

hope you have a great weekend. if someone offers you the cutest dog in the world for free i suggest you take it.

2010...

how do YOU say it?

i've been told by some that the proper way to pronounce 2010 is "twenty-ten". i did a significant amount of research (browsing the first page of results on google) and i could not find any sort of verification.

 one thing is sure: i don't like saying twenty-ten.

i know, i know, the 20th century was normally said as nineteen-whatever. but i think i will say two-thousand-ten. two-thousand-eleven. two-thousand-twelve... and so on for the rest of my life. i think it will make me a little bit classier. or crazy.
